Official RPM packages for Xymon, built from source with no downstream patches. Packaging lives in xymon-rpm.
⚠️ Highly experimental. This packaging is new and has seen no production use; layout, versioning and repository structure may still change without notice. Do not point production machines at it yet.
dnf install https://xymon-monitoring.github.io/xymon-rpm/xymon-release-3-1.noarch.rpm dnf install xymon # server dnf install xymon-client # client only
The first command adds the repository and installs the signing key
in one step. If you would rather not install a package to do that,
fetch xymon.repo into
/etc/yum.repos.d/ instead.
There has been no release yet. The stable channel the release package enables answers, but holds no package — so the second command finds nothing until the snapshot channel is enabled too, as Channels below describes. That step goes once the first release is out.
Supported: EL8, EL9, EL10 and Fedora 43, 44 on x86_64.
| xymon/ | tagged releases — enabled by default |
| xymon-snapshot/ | builds from the development branch — disabled by default |
Snapshots are pre-releases of the next version and have had no release
testing. Enable them deliberately, per host. config-manager
is a plugin rather than part of dnf, and a minimal install of either
family lacks it:
dnf install dnf-plugins-core # EL dnf install 'dnf5-command(config-manager)' # Fedora dnf config-manager --set-enabled xymon-snapshot # dnf4: EL dnf config-manager setopt xymon-snapshot.enabled=1 # dnf5: Fedora
Packages and repository metadata are both signed. Verify the public key against this fingerprint, which is also published in the repository README — a fingerprint served only from here would prove nothing.
