hi

i formated my laptop and after that i installed xymon, but the problem is
that html files in "home/xymon/sever/www" are missing, when i checked
logfiles i found in "bb-displa.log" that the library lippcre.so.0 is missing
too...!!
so when i want to acceed to the xymon tool, the browser give me files that
exist in "home/xymon/server/www"...

please i neeeed help, i'm really blocked... :-(

thanks...

You need to install the pcre libraries on your machine. These are libraries
that handle the regular expression parsing. Look for them in whatever
package manager your OS uses. I suspect fixing this will also cause the html
files to be generated.

Just curious but wasn't it this same person who had this problem initially? I know we just went through this exercise for someone in the last couple of weeks. Please look through the archives.

but bb-display.log still genertae the same error "libpcr.so.0 is missing"...

what really confused me is that libpcre.so.0 exist in "/usr/local/lib", but
when i typed "locate libpcre", i didn't get the location of that library and
other libraries of libpcre.!!!

This is not a hobbit/xymon problem. There seem to be issues with your
OS. Do you have a support contract, or is there a support community
where you can get your OS issues resolved?

Once your OS issues are squared away, xymon should be happy.

so we can say that the cause of the missing of bb1.html and bb2.html .... is
the missing of libpcre.so.0?!

I believe that's what they're saying. It is a problem need solved one
way or the other. How did you install Xymon?

but now i really don't now what's the problem when i formated my machine...

When you compile the source it checks for the pcre libs. How did you lose them?

i didn't lose them, libpcre.so.0 is here, but when i try to locate it, the
system doesn't give any location..

i think J Sloan was right, the problem is about my OS (ubuntu 8.10)...

Ah, ubuntu 8.10?... that should work - though I would use 8.04 for a
stable server.

I'll try to set that up at home on an 8.10 test box -

Have you tried turning off apparmor?
