Monitoring HP ILO via Ssh

I'm looking at monitoring hp ilo via ssh, as our existing script only runs
on the linux boxes.

Looking at this, it isn't hard, so I'm thinking someone *MUST* have done
this already

In the spirit of never writing from scratch what you can steal ^H^H^H^H
find an existing collaborative project on, does anyone have anything like
this already?

thanks Betsy

Could you not just use SNMP with DEVMON (although this would need an OS and HP Insight installed)

We are monitoring the HP Insight Management data (i.e. Drives, Fans, Power and Temps) via DEVMON but if you want ILO specific data then I'm not sure if SNMP will do it.

Since we haven't started all that , from here it looks as though parsing
all the nice English text from SSH'ing to the ILO would be cleaner than
trying to hunt down all the MIB's.
But I'm open to suggestion and would enjoy seeing what you have if you are
open to sharing it.

To followup to my own message I am also looking at the Net::Ilo perl module
http://search.cpan.org/~nlewis/Net-ILO-0.54/

although it might be out of date and doesn't have some of the things we
want (like DIMM health) but it looks like it would be straightforward to
modify

Thank you, very cool!
I put in the nagios plugin to check bladesystems , but for Proliant ilo
the plugin only checked temperature, so this should be a better solution.

Sorry...connection has been spotty lately (ever since AAT "fixed" it). I'm looking around for a decent hosting provider to move it to.
