Hobbit client, exempt disks?
list Jason Chambers
Erm, how do you exempt disks from being detected in the client? Its detected the network mount (a backup drive) as a disk and is logging it! I don't think I need that level of redundancy in detection. *smirk* Jason Chambers IT Helpdesk Support <http://www.geosoft.com/20> eosoft Inc. Hack the client-script "df" command. Perhaps I should add an "ignore" setting to the DISK setup in hobbit-clients.cfg. Regards, Henrik

An ignore setting would be good for ignoring CD/DVD/USB/etc. mounts as well. Thanks, Larry Barber

There's a patch for this now at http://www.hswn.dk/hobbitsw/betapatches/ignoredisk.patch This lets you put a DISK %^/mnt IGNORE in the hobbit-clients.cfg, and it will completely ignore all filesystems beginning with "/mnt". Regards, Henrik

Hi Henrik do all the patches for 4.2 beta get included in next snapshots ? -- Frédéric Mangeant Steria EDC Sophia-Antipolis

Is there a show only pattern? For example, on my HPs I only want to see filesysterm that begin with /dev.

The snapshots are tarfiles created daily from my current source-tree. So the patches are in there - but there might be other things as well, which can break stuff (like unfinished patches). Right now, it is reasonably safe to use the snapshots for testing, since I am only doing beta-release bugfixes right now. Regards, Henrik

Hi Henrik, I have placed this line in my client and server (two different machines) after upgrading, and it's still generating alerts for this. Am I doing something wrong? Jason Chambers IT Helpdesk Support Geosoft Inc.
