While the Hobbit client doesn't require a server to operate it requires it
to be of any use. If the server goes down the client will collect data, but
it won't do anything.
One NIC is required. More is irrelevant.

To whom it may concern:
I read that I could install and use Hobbit network monitoring tools on
Ubuntu. I now have Ubuntu installed on a Dell Pentium 4 workstation. Now I
tried to install the Hobbitmon client to start using it at work and it keeps
on failing. Does Hobbit require a server to operate? Will the network
monitoring function require that the PC have 2 network cards?
Thanks
