list INC. Agege Information Systems
Greetings, I am new to Xymon and I need your help in the following areas. 1. How can I modify Xymon column headers in the Dashboard. ( i.e ssh cpu men). 2. I am looking for ways to get alerts when ever ipv6 is enable on the servers. Thank you for your considerations. Best regards, Agege

The column headings are the names of the "test" or "service" as delivered to the xymon server by the xymon client. If a client reports, "Test foo is red", then a column named "foo" is going to appear next to that host. If you want different column names, send different message text. Some server-initiated tests can be reported under an arbitrary name. The "CONT" test is one. See the man page for hosts.cfg for details. Search for the text "=COLUMN" to find which support this.
2. I am looking for ways to get alerts when ever ipv6 is enable on the servers.
Enabled? You'd need to test this on each host. Exactly how this is tested will vary by hardware and operating system.
Answering? You might be able to perform a conn-test against an IP6 address and invert the result (!conn). We aren't using IP6, so I can't even say if the combination of xymonnet and fping can do that.

Hello John, Thank you for your quick response. Please can you tell me which configuration file do I need to modify in Linux and Windows Client. In order to see new column names in Xymon Dashboard and whenever IPv6 if it's enabled in either Linux or Windows environment. Thanks,

No, I'm sorry I can't. Your question is too broad for "see new column names". Many things control how tests are displayed and what names are used. If you can describe which test you would like to appear under which column name, we may be able to help you. I can't help you with your IP6 question because I'm not running any IP6. Someone with a more modern network may be able to help.
