hi everyone.
I have problems configuring the msgs monitor.
i already read old questions about this and realized that this monitor
is configurate using hobbit-clients.cfg and loal-clients.cfg.
both configuration files are in the server part, aren´t they?
It is correct?

in hobbit-clients..
HOST=soria.xx.es
        LOG /usr/local/apache2/logs/error_log [error] COLOR=red

It is correct?

but i can´t find the local-clients.cfg .
It is necesary but i can´t find it.
the hobbit server is a debian .
can i create that file?
any idea?

hi
thaks for the anwer
i can´t find the file client-local.cfg , i´ve try to write it

 log:/usr/local/apache2/logs/error_log:10240

but it doesn´t work , maybe another file call it or something.
i´m thinking in doing a step back and downgrade to bb there I can set
the variable MSGFILE
at the bbsys.local file.

But the problem is just that step back.
any suggestion?
I cannnot find the client-local.cfg
thanks!

The file client-local.cfg is a configuration file on the Xymon (ex-hobbit)
server and the content is send to the Xymon client.
This is _not_ compatible with bb and is a Xymon feature only !!

hello
thanks for the aswer.

i mean that is possible that client-local.cfg where diasapear.
could hobbit be still working whitout that file?
in that case cuold i write a new client -local file to replace the missing one?
i did it but don´t work.
maybe i need to configure any other file?

Now i have a hobbit server and some hobbit clients but also many bb
clients working.
thats why i said to change this hobbit client , and place a bb one and
configure it to analize logs .
 msgs row , you know

Sorry, but I have no idea about what you are trying to do.
If you install a hobbit server, you get the client-local.cfg in the etc directory. And as long as nobody removed the file, it will not disappear. I think hobbit server can run fine without one.
For the client, you can choose between the hobbit client or the bb client. The hobbit server will understand both protocols. But if you want to use the client-local.cfg to configure the monitoring of the logfiles on the client, you need the hobbit client. If you want to use the bb client, be free to do so, but you can not use the file client-local.cfg to configure the monitoring.

hi stef
thanks :)
yes by the moment ill will install bb and configure the variable MSGFILE
at the bbsys.local file.
later ill try to know what happend with client-local...... damn! ;P
otherway ill try whit logs monitor (check_log) found at deadcat.
Seems like creating a nu client-local at /etc/hobbit next to
hobbit-clients.cfg and hobbit-alerts.cfg etc... doesn´t work at all.
the one that installed the server in that debian follows the tipical
location of the files . in etc (configuration ) other fiiles at var
......
and now is too late to change and reinstall , so doing workarounds....

thank!
