I am trying to get the bb-prtdiag.sh script to work on a couple of Solaris
boxes and didn't know if I could get some help from someone in the forum
that has it up and running. Currently I am trying to get it to run on a
V880 and I am getting this error in the log file:

-bash-3.00$ more bb-prtdiag.log

awk: syntax error near line 1

awk: bailing out near line 1

and on the hobbit page I am seeing this:

UNAME command is not defined in etc/bbsys.local - using default: /sbin/uname

yellow PLATFORM_SPEC command is not defined in etc/bbsys.local - using
default: SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

yellow PRTDIAG_COMMAND command is not defined in etc/bbsys.local - using
default: /usr/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-880/sbin/prtdiag

UltraSPARC-IIi-cEngine Sun-Fire Netra-T4 UltraAX-e2 Ultra-Enterprise-10000

yellow PRTDIAG_IGNORE_ERRORS variable is not defined in etc/bbsys.local -
using default: No failures|Most recent AC Power Failure|Minimum Available|CS
Fail|No Hardware failures|^===|currently no Boards|Fault     Fan

yellow PRTDIAG_IGNORE_FAULTS variable is not defined in etc/bbsys.local -
using default: No Recent System Faults found|No System Faults found|Fault
Value|Fault LED|NO_FAULT|Power Fault|Status Fault|Fault

And I don't believe I have a program called "fjprtdiag" and it looks to be
a necessary component.

Thanks,

Josh

Josh,

I believe there is a read me or maybe it's in the comments of the file but there are some entries that need to be added to I believe hobbitclient.cfg which are some of the bits that are saying not defined in etc/bbsys.local, I'm at home at the moment, but I'll take a look at our bb-prtdiag.sh script tommorow and see what we reset to get it working properly in hobbit.

regards,

Mike

Josh,

Mike is correct, it sounds like you need to edit the
client/etc/hobbitclient.cfg file and put:
UNAME="/opt/sfw/bin/uname"
in there, changing the path to the location of your uname program.

Mind you, I don't have the UNAME variable defined in my Hobbit client,
which is from Hobbit v4.2.0.

For the record the BBWin application is dependant on running through a
service. DOS/Win9x doesn't support services so you're out of luck =(

Can I ask why you're running Win98 in 2008?

I found out that I could set the information that usually goes in the

But currently the bb-prtdiag.sh script is showing a power supply issue but
there isn’t one:

!?!

red prtdiag reports power supply problems !!!

From SourceForge, I click on home page.

I found I got this error when the environment variables passed in were
not being set.

I noticed it at this AWK call:
      #Do the output conversions
      echo $TEMPS | $AWK -v SYSTEM=$MACHINETYPE \
                         -v YELL=$YELLOWLINE \
                         -v REDL=$REDLINE \
                         -v THISH=$MACHINE \
                         -v PROG=$TEST \
                         -v GRED=$RED_PIC \
                         -v GYEL=$YELLOW_PIC \
                         -v DEBUG=$DEBUG \

For me, the $MACHINE wasn't set properly so THISH wasn't set, which
messed up a number of comparisons in the awk code.

You can either print out each of the shell variables listed above just
before the AWK call, or you can set up your hobbit environment and then
call the bb-prtdiag.sh script yourself as you have already described...
or both...
