I have installed the zonestat.sh per instructions on a global host, however I am not getting anything on the xymon server. Anyone with ideas on why? Thanks! This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System. For more information please visit http://www.messagelabs.com/email

Can't get anything to show up on the server side. I have looked on the client side and it appears to be running. There are files in /opt/hobbit/tmp with the name of hobbit_zonestat.vuglzn04.(pid#) Nothing in the client logs showing any error. On the server side there is no data in /apps/xymon/data/rrd/(servername). Nothing in the logs. The hobbit_rrd appears to be running. 1 ) Check the contents of the hobbit_zonestat.hostname.pid-file
It should contain data like:
PID USERNAME SIZE RSS STATE PRI NICE TIME CPU PROCESS/NLWP
8764 hobbit 3760K 2600K cpu0 44 0 0:00:00 0.3% metastat/1
ZONEID NPROC SWAP RSS MEMORY TIME CPU ZONE
0 48 61M 72M 1.7% 7:10:57 1.1% global
1 46 70M 59M 1.4% 0:20:47 0.0% bigbrother
Total: 94 processes, 304 lwps, load averages: 0.02, 0.03, 0.04
2) Are you sure the host has a valid representation within Hobbit? I
mean: the host vuglzn04 has a valid entry in you bb-host file where
the line should contain the extra's:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx vuglzn04 #
"TRENDS:*,zonestat:zonestatcpu|zonestatmem|zonestatnproc|zonestatsize"
If you have done the above, it only shows in the trends column; nowhere else.

I have exactly the same problem so I suspect it is not just your setup. I tried a little bit of debugging but got sidetracked back onto something else.

Well that is good to know that I am not the only one running into this issue! Hopefully someone will respond with a work around or a fix!

Hi Folks,
I'm running Xymon 4.3.3 on Solaris 10 and have now rolled it out on all
the servers/LDOMs/zones that I have and all the basics are working well.
For the past hour or so I have been trying to get zonestat working;
On the Client I have put the zonestat.sh script in /opt/xymon/client/ext
and have modified the clientlaunch.cfg with
# Zone Monitoring Script.
[zonestat]
ENVFILE $XYMONCLIENTHOME/etc/xymonclient.cfg
CMD $XYMONCLIENTHOME/ext/zonestat.sh
LOGFILE $XYMONCLIENTLOGS/xymonclient.log
INTERVAL 5m
On the server side I have modified the /opt/xymon/server/etc/tasks.cfg
with
[zonestat]
ENVFILE /opt/xymon/client/etc/xymonclient.cfg
NEEDS xymond
CMD /opt/xymon/client/ext/zonestat.sh
LOGFILE $XYMONSERVERLOGS/xymonclient.log
INTERVAL 5m
In the /opt/xymon/client/tmp I see the file being created with the
prstat information in it.

Hi Dave, I haven't taken a close look at zonestat.sh so don't know much about it, but if you want graphs then I think you have to put a bit more work in. I am still on 4.2.0 so the configuration is slightly different but take a look at this page, which I have used on many occasions when creating my own graphs. http://www.xymon.com/xymon/help/howtograph.html
