Is there any way to speed up the NTP tests? My run is taking longer than
300 seconds. 229 of that is NTP.

Error output:
WARNING: Runtime 322 longer than time limit (300)

so I would disable the built-in NTP test and replace it with this ntpd test?

Looking through the code, it appears to handle these in a blocking mode as
well, waiting for a reply before going to the next one.

I would think a non-blocking design would be faster. Not sure this would fix
the problem, or just hide it by putting it in an external script that could
take more than 5 minutes.
