list Harald Villemoes
Hi I am running Xymon 4.2.2-RC1-2008.12.01 and have a problem with some, but not all browsers. The problem occurs, then I go to Trends and selects the magnifying glass ican. The graph displayed for zooming is displayed and immediately coveret with a blue square. This occurs in: firefox 3.5 and Opera 9.64 This does not occur in: firefox 3.0, Crome 2.0.172.37 and IE 8.0.6001 All hints are appreciated. Best regards Harald Villemoes

I have the same problem, but I'm still back on hobbit 4.2. It's most definitely a new firefox issue with the dynamic graphs, I don't know what any solution is yet either........... -----Original Message----- From: Harald Villemoes [mailto:user-f8bb92deeafe@xymon.invalid] Sent: Thursday, July 30, 2009 3:57 AM To: user-ae9b8668bcde@xymon.invalid Subject: [hobbit] firefox 3.5 problem with graph zoom display - ymon 4.2.2-RC1-2008.12.01

Did you try to apply the patch from http://www.hswn.dk/hobbiton/2009/07/msg00274.html ? If the patch won't apply then you could add the "opacity:0.5;" manually to those two lines in web/hobbitgraph.c, they're easily found. hobbitgraph.c has very few changes from 4.2.0

Hi
I think I have a work around, avoiding a recompile of the C code.
Rather than make the changes to hobbitgraph.c, I applied the changes
mentioned in the patch below, to a css file that hobbit uses. (since I
wanted to avoid recompiling our production code).
This seems to have resolved this issue with Mozilla 3.5 for me. (on Xymon
4.2.3. Haven't tried this yet on 4.2.0 )
I just added the following to the bottom of $BBHOME//www/menu/menu.css
#zoomSensitiveZone{
opacity:0;
}
#zoomBox{
opacity:0.5;
}
Hope this is of use,
Chris Barham

yes, works fine (Xymon 4.2.3, FF 3.5.2 Win32).
Also works for me - Xymon 4.2.3, FF 3.5.2 OSX 10.5.8 Much nicer doing the patch in CSS rather than hardcoded in a binary! David.

There's a simply CSS fix out there somewhere ... can't remember the URL but basically the fix was to add the following to main/main.css in the Xymon path:
#zoomSensitiveZone{
opacity:0;

#zoomBox{
opacity:0.5;

The menu scripts aren't embedded: they're sourced by reference (src= in bb_footer). I know it isn't a lot of bandwidth, but it seems an unnecessary redundancy.
