Xymon Users,

Having issues on both our prod and dev xymon systems.

Dev issues are that the server side tests for conn, ntp and ssh are missing from the web page

Prod issues are that selecting the icon for a specific host and test times out:

Gateway Time-out

The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.

That gateway timeout message did not originate from xymon.

As for the server side, conn should be there unless the entry in the hosts file is tagged noconn. The other two require specific tags in the hosts file. Did you just add it? It takes a few test iterations for new servers to show up.

My wild guess is xymonnnet isn't running on this server.

If you can't select any tests then make sure the xymon server processes are actually running. The individual test pages are generated dynamically when you click on a test, so if the xymon server processes aren't running all the tests will not be viewable. The rest of the pages are static pages that are regenerated every X minutes according to your settings. You can tell which are static VS dynamic by looking at the url to see if it ends in .html.

Sitting in a meeting so I'm not able to compare it to mine, but offhand I would stop the xymon server, make sure all the processes go away, then restart the xymon server.

Scot,

No all hosts have always been there. We had to migrate alerting from our prod xymon server to our dev xymon server because we could not select any of the test on any hosts and get the details.

The conn, ntp and ssh are conducted from the server as opposed to the client. And no conn test shows up for any host. We only have noconn option for named http monitoring.

ntp and ssh are only added to specific hosts and are not appearing where they should be.

Thanks for a quick response though.

That gateway timeout message did not originate from xymon.

As for the server side, conn should be there unless the entry in the hosts file is tagged noconn. The other two require specific tags in the hosts file. Did you just add it? It takes a few test iterations for new servers to show up.

Importance: High

Xymon Users,

Having issues on both our prod and dev xymon systems.

Dev issues are that the server side tests for conn, ntp and ssh are missing from the web page

Prod issues are that selecting the icon for a specific host and test times out:

Gateway Time-out
The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.
