Hi,

I just had bbwin 0.13 install end prematurely on a Windows 2008 R2 server (x64) - is there any known requirements to installing bbwin 0.13? Like dotnet-framework 3.5 or similar? The server has dotnet-framework 4.0 installed. Any ideas?

Regards,

Hi,

Sadly that option wasnt available on the file (even shift-right-clicking the msi-file) - but I suspect that's the culprit somehow.

Interesting. I actually run the MSI from a batch file as I do other things like fetching the configuration from the server. Try creating a batch file that calls the MSI and run that as Administrator.

Hi,

Doing the batch-file trick results in the option to run as admin, but the cmd-window closes without starting the msi-file. Doing a cmd-prompt as admin and running the bbwin-msi also ends up in "ended prematurely"... I wonder if UAC is the culprit somehow.

No, I've copied it to the server itself. Btw, the "ended prematurely" is a bbwin-dialog, saying it couldn't install properly - not a native Windows feature. So the msi-file runs fine, it just cant install properly.

Sadly that option wasnt available on the file (even shift-right-clicking the msi-file) - but I suspect that's the culprit somehow.

Hi,

I just had bbwin 0.13 install end prematurely on a Windows 2008 R2 server (x64) - is there any known requirements to installing bbwin 0.13? Like dotnet-framework 3.5 or similar? The server has dotnet-framework 4.0 installed. Any ideas?

Hi,

I get to choose "typical/custom/complete" in the bbwin-dialog, and then afterwards it gives me the "ended prematurely"-dialog. Nothing gets installed/copied - no files, nothing. It is indeed some admin-rights issue, just unsure how to fix it.

Sounds very strange.

When you write "install properly" is it then executed with some parameters at the installation ?

Can you see the service I windows services ?

Hi,

No, I've copied it to the server itself. Btw, the "ended prematurely" is a bbwin-dialog, saying it couldn't install properly - not a native Windows feature. So the msi-file runs fine, it just cant install properly.

Is it run from remote file location ?

How about properties for msi file it self ? Is it blocked from running because of unsecure location ?

Re-download.

Nothing remotely wrong here.
Just installed bbwin.013.msi with no issues at all.

Doing the batch-file trick results in the option to run as admin, but the cmd-window closes without starting the msi-file. Doing a cmd-prompt as admin and running the bbwin-msi also ends up in "ended prematurely"... I wonder if UAC is the culprit somehow.

Did you know that on Windows 2008 R2, Run as Administrator forces the current directory to %SystemRoot%\System32? If you're using relative paths they won't work when you Run as Administrator.
