No commercial Hobbit support from me

Some time ago I floated the idea of providing commercial support for
Hobbit, and asked if anyone would be interested.

A handful of you came forward and said you would be interested.

However, the past few months have made it clear to me that committing
myself to support Hobbit with guaranteed responsetimes etc. will not be
possible. When there's a quiet period at my full-time job I'd have
plenty of time to support Hobbit, but when the workload is the way it's
been these past few months I would not be able to provide a reasonable
level of support.

And I don't want to do something poorly - then I'd rather not do it at all.

So - commercial support from me won't happen at the moment. If anybody
else would like to offer it, then I would very much encourage it.

Regards,
Henrik

We are prepared to offer professional services for the installation, setup and ongoing maintenance of a Hobbit infrastructure, including writing custom tests.

Although our focus is mainframe operating systems (including Linux on the mainframe) our offer is certainly not limited to that scope.

This offer is aimed at organizations that are interested in an enterprise class network monitoring solution, but do not have the time or manpower to implement one.

Please contact me privately for details.

Since I am unemployed, I have some spare time, I could help anyone in south of Sweden with installing Hobbit and some basic configuration on HP-UX. Probably also Linux and Solaris on x86.

I have worked 30 years with computers, I started 1976 as a cobolprogrammer on a Univac 1100 mainframe and tty-terminals. I have also worked as programmer in databus on Datapointcomputers.

I have been technical responsible in a Swedish company with offices and factories around Europe. There I was responsible for several Oracle instances on several HP-UX servers. A SAP installation. Network both Lan and Wan. It was when this company move there headquarter I lost my job.

But I have not worked with Microsofts products. And my knowledge of C is null.

Regards
Lars

Those who would like to offer support for Hobbit, please e-mail me
directly and I'll setup a webpage on the Hobbit demo-site with
links to you. It will be easier to find, and I do prefer to keep
the mailing list mostly ad-free :-)

Thanks,
Henrik
