xymon log contains hundreds of errors regarding /bin/dash

Im sure ive seen an answer to this online before but cannot find it now! xymon client version: xymon-client-4.3.30-1.el7.x86_64 the xymonclient.log has multiple entries nohup: failed to run command '/bin/dash': No such file or directory its clearly not a biggy as xymon does what we need it to do.? This just creates a lot of "nosie" in the logs and ends up with a? woods for trees scenario. there is no /bin/dash unsurprisingly...? is it just a case of creating a softlink of /bin/dash fropm eg /bin/bash ? Or is there soemthing else going on here? cheers didds

Do you have any scripts running from clientlaunch.cfg? On Mon, 22 Mar 2021 at 16:31, Ian Diddams via Xymon <xymon at xymon.com> wrote:

/bin/dash is a shell in the EPEL repository: Name : dash Arch : x86_64 Version : 0.5.10.2 Release : 1.el7 Size : 91 k Repo : epel/x86_64 Summary : Small and fast POSIX-compliant shell Description : DASH is a POSIX-compliant implementation of /bin/sh that aims to be as small as possible. It does this without sacrificing speed where possible. In fact, it is significantly faster than bash (the GNU Bourne-Again SHell) for most tasks. If you don't want (or can't) install it, you could probably get away with linking /bin/sh or /bin/bash to /bin/dash.
