Looking for OS X script examples

I am looking for some script examples that are OS X specific that I  
might use in a presentation I am working on.
So if you have one you wouldn't mind sharing please let me know.

I am talking about monitoring scripts that one would but in the "ext"  
directory on a OS X client. What I am trying to do is find a few more  
examples of things that are specific to OS X clients.
