Anyone please guide if there is any readymade script for monitoring sendmail
on solaris/linux ?

There is a BB script available on deadcat.net. It should work with Xymon
with at most a little tweaking.

What exactly do you want monitored (besides smtp availability)?

Hi, is there an Xymon addon to monitor e-mail traffic on Sendmail
servers?  Would like to see graphs of sent and rejected e-mails on a
daily basis if possible.
