Migrating Hobbit from one server to the next
list Josh Luthman
I am planning on migrating Hobbit to another server (the one it is on now is just a test box). The only thing I should need to do is tar the ~hobbit directory, move it over and start it up, correct? Linux will figure out the modules for hardware and the IP will work on that leg of the network. Currently the destination server is running BB which is why I need to have downtime to a minimum! Thanks for any advice! Make sure the dependencies are installed, of course (like RRD and whatnot). Also when we migrated we had a problem with permissions for apache, so heads up on making sure those are setup correctly =cP I imagine you've covered that base, but whatever helps. Both are running httpd 2.2 so I can just copy the config. I'll go through the install page and make sure all those libraries. Thanks for the ideas, Tod! There is always something I forget =P Josh
