I downloaded the xymon-client rpm from http://terabithia.org/rpms/xymon/el5/xymon-client-4.3.17-1.el5.x86_64.rp m And installed on one of my RH 5.5 64 bit server: [root at pctyfin01dev kpeng]# rpm -Uvh xymon-client-4.3.17-1.el5.x86_64.rpm Install went OK, but after install, I wondered: 1. How can I configure the xymon-client points to my xymon server? 2. How to start the client agent? -----Original Message----- From: Xymon [mailto:xymon-bounces at xymon.com] On Behalf Of J.C. I don't wanna go all 'rtfm' on you, but I have to ask... have you read
the documentation?
Under the 'help' menu on your Xymon server's web page, you will find
helpful instructions which will get you started.

I installed xymon server on island-vm (ip address 10.1.2.159 -CentOS 6.1-64 bit OS) days ago, result is good. As I tested xymon client install on both CentOS 5.5 (centos-55-64, first run, ip addr 192.168.1.30) or CentOS 5.7 server (island-test-57, ip address: 10.1.2.160, 2nd run), neither of them I can see the cpu, disk, memory from server URL: http://192.168.1.28/xymon/ or http://10.1.2.159/xymon/ respectively. I followed strictly from the help document I got from server web page. I recorded all the details of what I have gone through (see the attached MS Notepad document). When configure xymon client on 4.3.16, "make" gave me error: ... /home/qkpeng/xymon-4.3.16/lib/matching.c:198: undefined reference to `within_sla' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [matching.o] Error 1 make: *** [lib-client] Error 2 I tried to use xymon-4.3.17.tar.gz, and I can bypass "make" error, and successfully run to the end, but the server still don't show me "cpu disk memory" icon status. Attached is all the details I have gone through, but I can't figure out where I did wrong? -----Original Message----- From: Xymon [mailto:xymon-bounces at xymon.com] On Behalf Of John Thurston Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 8:06 PM To: xymon at xymon.com Subject: Re: [Xymon] how to use xymon-client-4.3.17-1.el5.x86_64.rpm; Xymon 4.3.17 released
