Hi everyone!

Attached follows a "login"/generic server-side script made on bash shell-script language.

This script is just like the perl version, just made in a generic way to be easily extensible...

I made this version because i couldn't get the perl version to work on my Gentoo server with perl 5.8.8, not to mention that i know perl as much as i know how to build nuclear submarines ;-)

    With best regards,

ENVFILE /usr/lib/hobbit/client/etc/hobbitclient.cfg <--it's supposed to
be hobbitserver.cfg, this is a service side module, not a client
external, the client reports who output by default this script just
makes it into a hobbit status based on the output it receives via the
incoming hobbit data.

Thanks,

Jason.

Hi Sello, have you configured BBHOME to /usr/lib/hobbit/server at your rootlogin.sh ?

Also, your user-945ca2587ff9@xymon.invalid seems to be wrong:

               [rootlogin]
                       ENVFILE /home/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg
                       NEEDS hobbitd
                       CMD hobbitd_channel --channel=client --log=$BBSERVERLOGS/rootlogin.log $BBHOME/ext/rootlogin.sh

Look at the ENVFILE.

The msgcache manpage says:

NOTE: When using msgcache, the BBDISP setting for the clients
should be
BBDISP=127.0.0.1 instead of pointing at the real Hobbit server.

Are you supposed to do that via the HOBBITSERVERS setting in
/etc/defaults/hobbit-client? I can't find any doc about setting BBDISP,
but it looks like that's where the hobbit-client init script gets the data
for the BBDISP setting it puts in the runtime config.

Hi,

Where do you set the warn levels within hobbit ? I want to set the time
period to 100ms for the conn service so that it shows yellow.

Can you set this warn level per device or per group of devices ?

Thanks,
Ger.

Cannot do that. Hobbit will just check if the host responds to a ping
within 5 seconds.
