running make install on a Solairs 8 client fails with the following:

cp -fp hobbitlaunch logfetch clientupdate orcahobbit msgcache hobbitclient*.sh 
bb bbcmd bbhostgrep bbhostshow bbdigest  /opt/hobbit/client/bin/
../build/merge-sects clientlaunch.cfg /opt/hobbit/client/etc/clientlaunch.cfg
../build/merge-sects: syntax error at line 15: `(' unexpected
make[1]: *** [install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/hobbit-4.2.0/client'
make: *** [install-client] Error 2

So, what was the problem after all Jon? I'm about to do several Solaris
8 installs and would be interested in the knowledge. Thanks!

It was my own stupidity.. I had been using the same source located on a nfs 
server to install to many clients.  I had first installed on a linux box, 
then the next client was Solaris.  Although I did run configure again, I had 
forgot to run make clean and it must have had some files left over.  

I ran 'make clean', then deleted the Makefile and it installed with no errors.
