purple and clear
list Frank Schmerler
Hi all, I've some hobbit clients in networks without a connection to the hobbit server. I've set the NOCONN option in bb-hosts. Works great but if the server goes offline I'll like to get an email or see this server in "All non green...". But the server shows only "clear" and not "purple"and I won't get an notification. Has anyone the same problem or ca help me ? Thx best regards Frank

Obviously you can't do any alerting on clear, just stating that for the record. You can set notification should it go purple. Read the /hobbit/help/hobbit- alerts.html help page on your hobbit install. Josh

Hi thanks for your answer. The problem is that this systems never get to purple. I've set the NOCONN option (I don't have a permanent connection to this server). I get all green messages. But if the server is down I receive only clear messages (white symbol). What can I do to get purple messages from dead systems with the NOCONN- option? Thak you, best regards Frank

When you ask how to get purple messages, are you referring to making the test appear purple on the www pages or perform an alert once it is purple?
