Henrik, is there a list of post RC6 pacthes out there that need to be
applied? I know I've seen at least one floating through the mailing
list. I wanted to double check as I am now building out our soon to be
production hobbit server. Thanks

The only important one is the one I sent out on the mailing list
earlier today, for the DOWNTIME setting.

There's an AS/400 cpu/disk graph fix, a "netresolve" patch that
handles hosts with a "0.0.0.0" address when you run bbtest-net with
--dns=ip, and a patch for the RSS generator.

I've just sync'ed these to the web, so you can find them all at
http://www.hswn.dk/beta/

Thanks. Is there a specific order for the patches to be installed? I
want to install the downtime, rrs and mrtg patches.

Thanks

I do not think so, since no two patches are patching the same files

I patched from top to bottom if that may be the order you rather go
with. In otherwords I started with postrc6-downtime and ended with
rssgen patch

To avoid any confusion, I've generated a single patch with all
post-RC6 changes. This is now available on my website.

It's fairly large (250 KB), but most of it is due to a global update
of the copyright notices on all of the source-code files.

I have dealt recently with several software package (mambo for one), that utilize a CVS repository for getting the newest version. When you want the newest version, you just check it out of CVS and get the latest patched source. Since its CVS you can also easily check out other/older versions if a particular patch causes problems for you. Maybe you could do something similar with Hobbit.

Just a thought.

Oh, I do use a RCS for all of the Hobbit sources, and the plan is to
switch to the public CVS repository on SourceForge. But this is a
manual process that needs to be handled by the SourceForge staff, so
it would mean being unable to do any changes for a few days - so it
has to wait until later.
