Help: No graphs in xymon

I am very new to Xymon so bear with me.

I am looking into a problem on Xymon 4.2.2. on linux with no luck.

Looking for some hints on how to proceed.

Graphs show up only in trends column but not in its own column.

This is not a custom graph that I am trying to create but the standard setup
by

Xymon installation e.g., cpu, memory, disk etc. Only cpu has a graph but not
any other

Columns. When I look in rrd directory I see la.rrd ( for cpu ) and multiple
rrd for disk

disk,tmp.rrd, disk,var.rrd, disk,root.rrd. So I see 3 magnifying glass on
disk page with

no graphs to go with it.

Any help appreciated,

So you're saying no host in the conn column has a graph?

That host won't work for anyone not using your DNS server so we can't look.

So the data is there and it appears as though it is updating, is the
image making it to the HTML page?

I've not seen this issue as long as install correctly.

Can you open the page in a browser?
http://csbu-bldsrv-09/xymon-
cgi/hobbitgraph.sh?host=adburelbld-1&service=tcp:conn&graph_width=576&graph_height=120&disp=adbu%2drelbld%2d1&nostale&color=green&graph=hourly&action=view

This should be all on 1 line. This is the part after SRC= and it is the url for the image so you can copy it from the source of the html page.

If this is not showing anything in the browser, you can use the command wget on your xymon server to download the image on the command line.
'wget http://';
If the file is downloaded, you can do 'cat <file>' to see the content.

The problem is that when there is an error in generating the image, some text is returned. This is very confusing for a browser, but with wget you can download the text and take a look at it.

Yes, in the directory where you are standing in. Go to /tmp with "cd /tmp" or to your home directory with "cd ~" and try again.

Hello there.

I have installed xymon version 4.3.0.0 beta2 on Suse Enterprise 10. I want
to use it monitor Oracle and Mysql databases.
I have tried to use the *hobbit-perl-client* scripts but they all seem not
to work at all.

Could anyone be having a *step by step manual* on installing the script and
they help me out? Am really a newbie at scripting in linux.
Why do most of deadcat scripts require bbdef.sh file which is missing in my
xymon installation?

There is a mysql script on there that works for me. It must be
installed on the client as it reports status.

For me it looks like a bug (typo) in hobbitgraph.cgi

I changed the "nostale" to "noscale" (because I saw it some where else) and it works.

But it works also if you remove the "nostale" parameter ...

This is not a typo. The "nostale" option tells hobbitgraph to show
RRD files older than 86400 seconds (24 hours), where normally it
doesn't show stale RRD files.

If this change makes your graphs appear, then your RRD files might be old.

No, my graphs are up to date. They are the same as on the "Trends" page.
But it seems to be a bug in hobbitgraph, because it is only showing graphs without the "nostale" option.
Interesting: On the "Trends" page the graphs are generated without the "nostale" option, and they are visible.
But on other pages (CPU, MEM, DISK, f.e.) they are generated with the "nostale" option and are not visible.
