Hi,

I was wondering if there is a possibility to force some kind of client
refresh from the hobbit server.

For instance, a network problem occurs, and as soon as you have
corrected it, you want to check the state of the monitored clients,
without allowing for the 5mins delay (by default).

Regards,
Stephane

No. The Hobbit server has no way of contacting the client to ask for a
refresh.

If you can login to the client host, then restarting the Hobbit client
will result in an immediate update of the client data.

For network tests, you can login as the hobbit user on the server
running your network tests, and then run

   bbcmd bbtest-net HOSTNAME

to force a refresh of the network test status for this particular host.

It would be useful if this feature was available from the web interface (users
used to Nagios have asked me about this).

Only problem is how you can do it when the web interface and the network
tests run on different machines, separated by firewalls.

(Guess who has such a setup ... )
