sorry, because i ask a lot of questions...!

this time i don' get an email when a status goes into critical state.

i installed mailutils package, and nothing have changed.

but i haven't configured my mailing server yet.

do you think that i should configure it then the mailing will take place, or
i should do something else?!

and thanks a lot... :-)

Yes, you should make sure that mail works first. Xymon has a
notification log that will show when it has tried to notify someone, so
you can check that to see if the problem is in the Xymon server or
elsewhere. But before you get too deep, you should log on as the user
that Xymon is running as and try to send a message somewhere...

My Hobbit server is only reporting bbd, conn, http, info, smtp, ssh and
trends. At one point it reported the others like cpu, disk, memory, etc...
but at some point in the last few weeks I noticed that it is no longer
reporting the status of those. Nothing I know of has changed and there is
nothing I can see in the config files that should be preventing it from
reporting.

Any ideas what is wrong?

Thanks,
Jason

hobbitd_client is what you were looking for. Stop and restart the client
and wait a few minutes; then see if your information is being reported.

That still did not work. I rebooted the server and it still isn't reporting
it. Any other ideas?

Did you change the hostname ? Does the server appear in the ghost clients list?

The data is provided by the hobbitclient.sh script, which is (by default) run every 5 minutes by hobbitd from the hobbitclient task in hobbitlaunch.cfg.

Hi,

For 2 weeks, on a hobbit server 4.2.0 there is a repeat critical error:

[...]
009-02-02 09:43:16 BOARDBUSY locked at 1, GETNCNT is 0, GETPID is 7386, 1
clients
2009-02-02 09:43:21 BOARDBUSY locked at 1, GETNCNT is 0, GETPID is 7386, 1
clients
[...]

So, the monitoring hangs at this time.

To avoid it, i restart hobbit service.

I read that someone suggests to delete hobbid.chk (corruped ?). I tried but
nothing changes...

Is there another way to correct it ?

Thanks

Regards,
Nicolas

Put your own .gif files in their own directory under ~/hobbit/server/www, and change BBSKIN in hobbitserver.cfg. Will probably require a restart of hobbit to pick up the changed environment variable.

If you want to test, you can create a new bbgen task with a different environment file and writing to a different directory.
