1) For some reason I cant get the hobbit client to report anything
for msgs, its always clear. Is this a permission thing I need to set
within linux?

2) Does the hobbit client run on the server? I don't see a netstat
or vmstat there.

3) Other then deadcat, is there another repository for bb/hobbit
scripts I can look at?

No, the Hobbit client doesn't currently do any log-file checking.
This is mentioned at the very beginning of the README.CLIENT file...

Installing the Hobbit server does install and launch the client.
You should see the netstat- and vmstat-graphs if you look at the
"trends" column; there is no dedicated netstat- or vmstat-column
since these are purely for collecting data.

No.

If I don't have these columns in the trends graph, what will I need to
do to get them up?

Look for the ~hobbit/client/tmp/msg.txt file - this is the data
collected by the client and sent to the Hobbit server. It should
contain a section beginning with "[netstat]" and another with
"[vmstat]". Are they in that file ? And not empty sections ?

If they are, send me a copy of that file. It might be that Hobbit
just fails to recognize the format of data your server sends;
what OS is this on ?

Hi Henrik,

I don't know if you got my email, but the file attachment was too large
to get placed into the mailing list so I sent it to your personal
address you have listed here.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for answering my previous inquiry so promptly. I have a few more
questions:

Is it possible to disable and acknowledge alerts via email, how?
Can I configure a maximum time limit a alert can be acknowledged for?

Can I restrict what hosts can be disabled on the enable/disable page?

Can the SMS alert format be reconfigured to display more or less
information?

Thanks!

Regards,

Greg

1) not to my knowledge...although I've seen similar questions. You'd
probably have to write a custom job...I think BB may even have one on
Deadcat...I know I wrote one for BB using AIM that is on deadcat (it IMs
your admin team whenever something goes to alert which can be
acknowledged via IM...may need some more work).

2) Don't think so.

3) Not without code changes.

4) write a custom pager script.
