Hi,

We have a J2EE application deployed on a Tomcat server
that is exposing some of its internal statistics as
custom MBeans. We need a command line tool that
will query the MBeans and write the results on the
standard output so that we can integrate it with
Hobbit and hopefully see some pretty charts.

Has anybody done that before? I could not find
anything relevant on deadcat or Shire. Any kind of
feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Ben

Have you looked at the weblogic monitor to see if it might be adaptable
to your needs? I haven't used it so I don't really know what it does
other than gather some JMX stuff...but it might give you ideas.

Rather than a command line tool you could write a java app to display your results. ie. go to a web page that runs a java program that tests the key parts of your app and it displays results. Hobbit reads the web page of results and then alarms/graphs/etc.
