Clients loosing connection trough ssh-tunnels
list Nelson Amaral
Hi, Thanks for the help so far, you guys are great. I do get clients reporting and connecting to the server, but after a period, let's say 30 minutes they stop reporting and the alerts go purple. I will try tomorrow to set the tcpkeepalive in the sshd_config to yes and see if this is the problem. I have a funny feeling it is the tunnel that times out. Another funny thing though , the ssh-tunnels column stays green. the columns for cpu, memory, etc go purple. In the output below, it appears your client is trying to connect to bbd
on the local host via the loopback address (127.0.0.1). Are you sure

That might be the tunnel IP:port of the remote BB server. What happens when you try to telnet to the server directly, from the client? (To determine if the tunnel really is up).

Nelson, If the SSH session drops due to inactivity you cound try the clientaliveinterval and serveraliveinterval in sshd_config. See sectiion 2.12 of the openssh FAQ. There are probably other ways to do this as well. Regards, -t

Hi, I would like to report that I manage to resolve this problem. The problem was that the tunnel timed out and hanged. I solved it by changing the report time in client-local.cfg on the clients from 5m to 1m . Maybe to 3m would work as well but this one is working so I'm not messing with it right now. I would like to thank everyone for the help and support.
