Downtime for disk check?
list Eric Jacobs
Every morning, sometime between 5 and 7, a particvular machine fills up a disk and then, after a while it goes back down (backups followed by clean up). Can I use "Downtime" for the disk alert? -- Eric Jacobs Thomas Publishing Company Infrastructure and operations Information Technology Group Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Email: user-2ad24e73f3d4@xymon.invalid

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, yes you can. Just put DOWNTIME=disk:*:0500:0700:"Every morning" or something like that in hosts.cfg on the line of that particular host and if the disk is filling up to yellow and/or red the disk test goes blue and if the disk space is going back to green the test will go back to green. But you won't be able to be alerted if another disk in this machine is filling up during this time too, well at least not until 7. HTH Torsten

If it's the alerts rather than the actual colour that is the issue,
another option is in alerts.cfg to add an IGNORE rule - this still
preserves the colour status being reported by the test (rather than
making it blue for the duration of the DOWNTIME), but just stops the
alerts. With judicious use of regular expressions this can be very flexible.
Some examples:

IGNORE PAGE=win TIME=234:0000:0355 # WSUS update window
