Hi all,
I have a little issue that maye you can help me with.
I monitor a server, and for a specific reason, I need it to appear in two differents hobbit pages, but with different names and different process check.
The reason is that I need to monitor quite a lot of process for that server, but I also need to create a combotest that includes the "procs" element of that same server, and for that combotest I want only a limited numer of procs to appear.
I thought that using the CLIENT: tag in the bb-hosts would allow me to duplicate the host, but it doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone have an idea on how to do this ?
Thanks,

Xavier

We do a simpler version of this in my company but we manage it using different IP addresses. The client itself reports out through one interface and the network-accessible devices (mail, dns and the like) are tested using a different IP address. You configure the two different IP addresses and different server names and you then have two separate Hobbit devices.

Sorry for the hijacking but would you then need to have two seperate client
processes running?

No. You have the client configured on one interface. It talks out of
that i/f and sends all the client data to the Hobbit server.

The server is used to monitor the ports and applications that are
configured to use the second interface on the client. So the Hobbit
server does the checking for if SMTP is running by connecting to port 25
on the second i/f of the client.

This means that you can only have services that can be checked remotely
configured on the Hobbit server for the second interface.

Hi Xavier,

I try to would approach it in this way.

* create a custom test script that replicates the "procs" test called otherserver-procs.sh. in the script make sure that the the status is coming from "alternatename" instead of "regularname"...

* put a line simliar to this in bb-hosts
0.0.0.0 alternatename.domain.com # noconn
