Please disregard earlier email. Problem solved. Apparently when your hobbit configure script runs it offers an option of using a native fping or not. There is no option. fping must be installed or the hobbit server will not be able to ping clients. Can someone fix the configure script to reflect this? Thanks. Charles T. Just install fping or use the default hobbitping. I always use hobbitping which works perfectly. Which version are you using?

This has not been my experience, however this was why I specifically asked about the value of the FPING variable in hobbitserver.cfg, which you didn't answer ...

I can take a look, but it would be easier with complete instructions to reproduce (and any relevant details about the platform you are on). Regards, Buchan

Charles,
Read Milne's email. He is trying to collect information to make changes
to the configuration script which you requested. What part of your
brain tells you to be rude to someone trying to comply with your
request? Am apology might be in order.

The part of my brain that read the question below, and thought I might try and put some time or effort into assisting others. However, it seems clear that the best way to do this may be to ignore any further questions from you on this list, and rather spend the time I have available helping others.

I see that the listserv unsubscribe doesn't work here - just like your software. I'll try again.
