What is the significance of the yellow bars under some of the column names? Some are green, some are yellow, and I've seen some go yellow and back to green? -- Michael Beatty Sherwin-Williams IT Analyst/Developer user-4aea7c115850@xymon.invalid XXX-XXX-XXXX

A screenshot would be helpful to indicate what you mean by bars. Xymon displays status in a grid, test along the top, host down the side, the coloured blob indicates the status of the test on a host. Steve

As below, you can see "bbd" and "conn" are both underlined in yellow. The other monitors are green.

Those column headers are html links. Someone clicked through "bbd" & "conn", so those links changed to the "link visited" colour. Ralph Mitchell

I get the same effect in IE8. This is correct behaviour based on the contents of xymonbody.css:
a:link { color: #00FFAA; text-decoration: underline; }
a:visited { color: #FFFF44; text-decoration: underline; }
This should make all hyperlinks green unless they have been visited, in which case they are yellow.
If you want to change this, edit ~xymon/server/www/gifs/xymonbody.css.
For example:
a:link { color: #87a9e5; text-decoration: underline; }
a:visited { color: #87a9e5; text-decoration: underline; }
or
a:link { text-decoration: none; }
a:visited { text-decoration: none; }

It seems that Chrome (and looks like IE9 too) honours the HTML FONT tag around the link text, which overrides the css: <A HREF="/xymon-cgi/columndoc.sh?bbd"><FONT COLOR="#87a9e5" SIZE="-1"><B>bbd</B></FONT></A> The styling should really be done with css alone otherwise we will get these inconsistencies between browsers. I seem to recall we've had conversations about this kind of thing on the list before.
