alert dependancy

Does the feature exist within Hobbit to define an alert dependency such that if router x is down, and/or switch is down, don't alert on the stuff behind it that's failing if they're defined to be dependent on those devices? I've been told that nagios does support this. Sue

You can use route:router1,router2 etc so that if a higher level fails the ping of the host will change to yellow instead of red. You would then configure your alerting to only alert on reds. Other tests go white when the ping test fails anyway. Craig
