Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I have linux client running, however nothing is showing up on the xymon
server.

I can ping either server from the other. I can telnet on port 1984 to
the xymon server from the client. The only thing on the xymon server is
the conn test which is showing green.

On the client, there is a msg.server.txt file in tmp which contains all
the data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Xymon 4.2.3

Server = Solaris 10

Client = Linux

Did you tell the client where the server is?

Check that the linux client uses the same hostname that you've configured in bb-hosts on the Xymon server. Sometimes they don't match, simply because one of them uses a fully-qualified domain name, and the other does not.

It'll show up on the "Reports->Ghost Clients" page if that is the case.
