Hi All

Ok before all our responses get lost in the mail I have composed a list
of people that volunteered so far. Please add your name if you not on
here.
1) TJ Yang
2) Neil Franken
3) Buchan Milne (via Developers List)
4) Lennon, Padraig

I think TJ Yang will probably be co admin unless we want more than 1
co-admin. With all due respect to all we will need to finalise this so
we can get some rubber on the road. So I suggest that we close the list
of by Monday next week? Once this list in finalized we can then break up
the remaining work and get down to brass tacks.

Regards
Neil

PS. I will post this on the Developers list as well.

Not sure what I have to bring to the table.
I can't code in C.
I am not a PM.
My documentation skills are so-so.
I am pretty good with ksh, but so are half the mob on this list.
I have nothing really unique to offer, but I will assist where I can.

I think so far, my biggest contribution to the list has been ending
the top-post/bottom-post feud.
Think I can add that to my CV? :-)

Cheers
    Vernon

Great to many volunteers come forward, nice stone soup (R1) will be ready soon.

To make Xymon a successful opensource project, we need following areas
covered with volunteers.

project management : Manage the project in general.
Development : To develop Xymon with more features and less bugs.
End user support : Help and Answer Xymon usage questions.
Documentation : To create and maintain publish grade Xymon
documentation.

So if you are not picked by Henrik(and the community) as project
admin, please consider volunteer yourself in different areas above.
Let's work as a team to tackle tasks together.

Also please consider me last as project admin, I plan to spend more
time in development and documentation areas.

If that is more clear to you,
I change it back to "Project Admin" ?

I have been reading the posts and I'm pleased with so many people willing to volunteer.

I can test new releases and I'm thinking about writing a 'doing cool stuff with xymon' howto (combining graphs, running 2 xymon instances on the same server, creating extensions, creating custom graphs, debugging, ....)

I have a lot of AIX boxes as xymon clients, so I can also help with the AIX part of xymon.

If it's needed, I can help with a dutch translation.

I take this as a Yes. you name is on the list.

Please do so and use what ever opensource doc tool you like.
if you don't have one in mind see R1.

Great resources you have, I am hoping in the future you can donate
your AIX CPU time
to become a AIX build machine and run C.I. software to build/verify
xymon build src.
If it's needed, I can help with a dutch translation.
Xymon i18n is way too far out in the roadmap(we don't really have roadmap yet).

I'm using Xymon at work and at home, I'm ready to help. I just know BASH
coding, tests, documentations and French translation if needed.

Best regards.
