no purple backround page

Hi, we are trying the latetst hobbit release on our test-system and it seems to work fine so far. The only problem we have, is that when a host gets "purple" because of a stoped service on that host, the background color does not change to purple, like the old BB did before. But this is a very important funktion for us. What can we do? many thanks, Pascal Lehnert

If the status is purple, then the background color should also change to purple - unless there's another status on the page that is yellow or red, or purple propagation has been disabled in the host configuration (the NOPROPPURPLE setting in bb-hosts). Henrik

ok, but we did not disable purple propagation (no option like NOPROPPURPLE in bb-hosts). Is it maybe that the yellow color has a higher prio. than purple? thank you, Pascal

oh, I think I found it in "hobbitserver.cfg". I changed: ALERTCOLORS="red, yellow, purple" # Colors that may trigger an alert message OKCOLORS="green, blue, clear" # Colors that may trigger a recovery message into: ALERTCOLORS="red, purple" # Colors that may trigger an alert message OKCOLORS="green, yellow, blue, clear" # Colors that may trigger a recovery message thanks, Pascal

Hi yes, yellow has a higher priority than purple. I found it confusing, but now I'm used to it... -- Frédéric Mangeant Steria EDC Sophia-Antipolis

Yes, the order of colors is green (lowest) - clear - blue - purple - yellow - red (highest) Regards, Henrik

No, those are only for sending out alerts. Your change means that you will never get an alert for any yellow status - even if it is listed in the hobbit-alerts.cfg file. Regards, Henrik

is it possible to change the order of purple and yellow? thanks,

So, what can I do? The Hobbit is just perfekt except this little thing. We need to have the failed clients on the non-green System list. Because a client that is faild, can also answer to ping requests, so you do not have a direct visual monitoring for failed clients. How do you deal with that? best regards,

I do agree. Purple tests should appear on the non-green view. Dominique UNIL - University of Lausanne
