Adding a description to custom columns

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to add a description to custom columns in Xymon? I want it to be like the default columns where you click on the name and it shows you a description. It looks like by default when you click on the name of a custom column a page comes up that just says "No match".

Hi Eric,

there is a file called columndoc.csv on the XYmon server in etc which
can be edited and new lines could be added in the form:

testname;explanation;

Hello,

the column descriptions you mentioned are configured in
/etc/xymon/columndoc.csv or $XYMONHOME/etc/columndoc.csv.
Unfortunately there is no /etc/xymon/columndoc.d as far I know. :-( ;-)

It's also possible to set the COLUMNDOCURL in the xymonserver.cfg to have a
completely different per column documentation page.

Kind regards,
	Lars

columndoc.csv is the usual place to add very short descriptions.
If you want to create a more complex description you can add a html file
named like the test in the $XYMONNOTESDIR.
If a "testname.html" is present there it will be used as the description
instead of the columndoc.csv entry (f.e. disk.html).
I have created a template html file which i rename and tweak for all my
custom tests.
