I checked the Hobbit display this morning and noticed that it had not been updated since 2:22AM. When I checked the hypervisor (IBMs z/VM), I noticed that the Hobbit virtual machine appears to be in a loop. It was using up alot of CPU time.
I could not log on to Hobbit via ssh or the console, so I had to reboot it. When I checked the logs after it came up, I saw this in bb-display.log:
2006-09-01 02:22:59 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - timeout
2006-09-01 02:22:59 hobbitd status-board not available
2006-09-01 02:24:08 WARNING: Runtime 119 longer than BBSLEEP (60)
2006-09-01 02:24:57 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - timeout
I scanned the filesystem for core files, but found only /proc/sys/net/core, /dev/core and one in the kernel modules tree.
Any thoughts on how to further debug this?
