Greetings, I have a quick question. Is there a way to monitor defunct processes with Xymon. Please let me know if there is a script for this.

Thanks,
Agege

Yes.

script for this.
The Debian/Ubuntu package "hobbit-plugins"
(https://packages.debian.org/hobbit-plugins) contains such a test.

It's integrated in the package's "misc" check which runs simplified
subchecks.

See the following files for the source code:

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/hobbit-plugins.git/tree/src/usr/lib/xymon/client/ext/misc
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/hobbit-plugins.git/tree/src/etc/xymon/misc.d/zombies
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/hobbit-plugins.git/tree/examples/zombies_ignore

		Kind regards, Axel Beckert

I also just monitor for processes with "<defunct>" in the process list.
