Hi everyone,

just a note that I am back following the eye surgery I had.
Everything went fine, and I'll end up having just as good
vision as before all of this trouble started.

Thanks for all of the "get well soon" e-mail. One of you
even sent me a postcard - I really appreciate your concern.

In case anyone else ends up in this situation, I'd advise
you to make sure you have plenty of stuff to listen to,
and also try to plan ahead for things to do that doesn't
involve using your eyes much. 4 weeks without books and
computers takes a lot of patience.

Now, off to catch up on events since I last had a look at
the mailing list...

Regards,
Henrik

Welcome back Henrik!

We sure missed you.
I have no idea how you did it. Nearly a month without books or computers would probably have been the end of me, but you are obviously made of tougher stuff :-)
I wonder is it possible to really die of boredom?

It's great to have you back though.
Are you back in the saddle again, or is it still a case of "take it easy" and "start slowly" and "you will get tired easily" and all the other fun stuff the quacks tell you?

But let's not knock doctors.
I went to my doc, and told him my eye hurts every time I drink coffee.
He asked me, one eye, or both?
I said one eye only.
He said I should take the spoon out of the cup.
Bloody smart those quacks :-)

Cheers
   V

P.S. Apologies for the lame humour, but I am a great believer in the ways of Dr Patch Adams.
See here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patch_adams
Yes, Patch Adams, as played by Robin Williams in the movie, is a real person. (good movie, go watch it)

Hi all

A while ago, this list conducted a survey, of who uses Hobbit.
Some of the names were quite interesting, and there were a few surprise inclusions (for me, at least).
The results were added to The Hobbit Wiki.

Has that list been updated as more people start using Hobbit, or is it time to do the survey again?

Cheers

The hosts count in bbgen is simply all the lines that look like hosts,
including repeated names.

I have a Hobbit server using a SOAP script to watch BigIP pools. If a port
in a pool is disabled, it flags red. All because management got really
agitated one day when some servers were left disabled and caused a client
impact...

Anyway, as the BigIP pools keep changing, I adapted the script to generate a
Hobbit include file for each BigIP, with a group-only line for each pool
with the ports it contains. bbgen tells me I have 4441 hosts right now, but
only 1726 are unique. A lot of the hosts are represented in multiple pools,
so they show up multiple times in the include files.

I just added to the wiki yesterday and wonder about that for me too. I run a lot of pseudo host;
mostly markers for licenses and web pages. Is that repeated (host)names or ips . I wonder is anything can be done to "fix" this. Maybe ignoring 0.0.0.0 ips?

     Hi all

A while ago, this list conducted a survey, of who uses Hobbit.
Some of the names were quite interesting, and there were a few
surprise inclusions (for me, at least).
The results were added to The Hobbit Wiki.

Has that list been updated as more people start using Hobbit, or
is it time to do the survey again?

     Cheers
        V
