HELP!!! I'm trying to do a complete new install of "hobbit 4.2.0". I want to believe I have followed all the instructions. I have tried the install twice with the same results. This is at the end of the output of the make command. - this is the error message - Undefined first referenced symbol in file ldap_start_tls_s ldaptest.o ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to bbtest-net collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [bbtest-net] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/export/home/hobbit/hobbit-4.2.0/bbnet' make: *** [bbnet-build] Error 2

Hi Fred, Do you need the LDAP functionality? Perhaps try building and saying no to LDAP tests? ie. at this point in a 'configure' run...
Checking for LDAP ... Found LDAP include files in /usr/include Found LDAP libraries in /usr/lib Hobbit can use your OpenLDAP LDAP client library to test LDAP servers. Do you want to be able to test LDAP servers (y) ?
If not. drop a note to the list with the OS you're running on, and anything special about your environment that you think might be relevant. Regards, Richard.

I just downloaded the latest stable Xymon release (4.3.21 and configured and maked it but when I click on the items I just get a file to download or a blank screen with a No Such Host message. I looked in the server/cgi-bin directory and there are a load of files ending in .sh but they are binaries not scripts and all of an identical size. I checked in the same directory of a previous version and they are small shell scripts. Can anyone help? Regards, Nick Pettefar

Are you using a name that doesn't have an A record? Try the IP. Also try localhost from the server with lynx.
