Best Practice Maintenance for Xymon?
list Zach Boss
Hi, I just want to thank everyone for the forum post, and keeping Xymon alive. This is a really great monitoring product. Now to my question. How does one keep the log files, history files, RRD files, and anything else stored under check? I currently only need data for the last year. So I am looking to delete it or archive it. Does anyone have scripts that they would like to share to help maintain the growing Xymon data? Thanks.

Hi, RRD-files are self-maintaining, they will only keep data for the past 576 days. For the history-logs, there is a tool included with Xymon: trimhistory. Have a look at https://www.xymon.com/help/manpages/man8/trimhistory.8.html Regards, Henrik Den 23-11-2015 kl. 08:07 skrev Zach Boss:
