Turning an SSH Yellow into a Red? 🔗 link

I have a system that, periodically, will hang up in such a way that
everything appears normal with the exception of SSH not responding in a
happy way.  The SSH port is still able to be opened but rather the PID
for SSH just isn't alive.  This results in a Yellow for SSH.  I'd like
to, just for this host, turn that Yellow into a Red.  Any ideas?
