Dear All,

after been away a while, I want to know which is the latest version of "xymon". I used to testinstall on HP-UX, but during the time I was away it passed away for me. Today I am using Ubuntu, have to have unix look-alike os.

I found a version 4.4.0-1 on my old backups, but there are some bugs. Is there a newer version?

The 4.3.0 tree is the latest. 4.2.3 is the latest stable. Search the
archives for the explanation, as this has been asked a couple of times
in the recent past.

Hello -

In looking at sourceforge it is looking like the latest version of Xymon is
4.3.28 released about 2 years ago. Is there a newer version available? I
am seeing something mentioned on the main sourceforge page about v4.4 in
2017.

Also, the company that I work for is open to using it however they want a
company to provide support for it. Anyone know of such a place? ( I have
let them know that it’s mainly supported via this mailing list. )

Thanks!

Bob

4.3.28 is where we are.
When there is a new release, it will be announced here.

Hi,

Much of the drive for 4.4 came from IPv6 integration, but there seems to have been less of a demand within the community than might have been expected. Performance impacts from networking refactoring also need to be ameliorated in 4.4 before proceeding

There have been various consultants providing paid support for Xymon over the years, however I don't believe there is an extant directory. It might make sense to have a page on Xymonton set for that purpose.

One vote for zero interest in IPv6 integration. We have disabled it on all of our internet networks. At least wherever possible.

I had been wondering as well if there were any plans for a future 4.3.x release. Thanks for the status update.

I’m just glad it’s not dead. Anytime an open source project goes over 2 years without at least a bugfix release is usually a precursor for bad news.
