Hi everyone

I have setup xymon and I am trying to add a windows XP client.
This client is already monitored by big brother(old version) and it has
bbwin.exe version 0.12 installed.

How can I make this particular windows XP client to be also monitored by
xymon?

I have added a second line in the BBWin.cfg inside C:\Program
Files\BBWin\etc\BBWin.cfg

<setting name="bbdisplay" value="IP_Address" />

but xymon does not display any information.

Could someone please let me know if I am missing something?

Many thanks
Yanni

delayred and delayyellow do not appear in the info column status page
(svcstatus.sh?HOST=<hostname>&SERVICE=info). I would expect them to appear
perhaps under Other tags, or perhaps at the top of alerting before the table
of alerts. This is on 4.3.7.

192.168.4.56 Db1 # delayred=special:10 delayyellow=special:5

Or does delayred and delayyellow not apply to custom tests? (If so, the
docs do not mention this.)

Kind regards,

SebA

Check the "Reports->Ghost clients" report in xymon. It is quite possible
that your Windows server uses a hostname different from what you have in
hosts.cfg (e.g. with/without domain name).

If the server is not listed in the ghost clients report, then the client
is not sending any data to Xymon. Could be all sorts of problems - wrong
configuration, network issues, firewall, ...

I probably have a configuration problem because xymon is running.

If you have anymore suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you
Yanni

Hi

Thanks for your reply. When I click on "Ghostlist" I get the following

You either have a serious configuration problem with your setup, or Xymon
is not running.

Hello again

When you say "xymon is not running", do you mean "xymon.sh" or "hobbitd", because
xymon.sh is running but "hobbitd" is not. If I do:

"ps -ef | grep hobbitd"

l only get: "root 30114 5880 0 14:28 pts/1 00:00:00 grep hobbitd".

I tried to start the service using: "service hobbitd start" but I get the "not recognised service" message.

Xymon is installed on Centoos and firewall is disabled on the windows client.

Thanks a lot for the help.
