Hey folks,

I was just reviewing usage and latest updates to monitors on xymonton.org.
I see lots of traffic by bots and spiders but not much from users. I'm
just curious if the community finds it useful at all. I'm pretty sure
deadcat is better than dead (see what I did there?) since Dell bought
Quest. I wasn't able to grab the tests to share on xymonton (if that was
even relevant).

thanks

I've found it very useful, especially when I was setting up our new Xymon
server not too long ago.

Maybe it's not well advertised that it exists? I know it took me a while
before I found it.

I've had a similar experience. I do do like being able to reference it.

keen...I was planning to make some changes but didn't want to waste my time
if noone was using it. I know Henrik has it referenced on xymon.com if you
look under the "Xymon Project" drop down. Pretty sure it shows up near the
top when you google for xymon. Ideally, I'd like to move as much content
into Xymonton as possible. It is a wiki at it's core (and needs a little
TLC I haven't had time for lately).

Another vote from me for keeping Xymonton around! Even if I referred to it
only once in the next 5 years, I would do so because it's extremely
helpful. It's a valuable resource I wouldn't want to be without.

Thanks. I've rethemed it and am looking into trying to make it just a
little friendlier within the boundaries of dokuwiki...I want to make it
more valuable which means more content but I'd prefer the community help
contribute. There are several wiki's out there that I've considered
attempting to mirror content of that don't seem to be getting updates (I
hate stale content when I need help)...not sure if those owners would
object to it, I'd also like to flesh out a "tips and tricks" page, a la
what is in the menu but with more content. Like I said, I'm willing to put
in some additional time on this as long as it's of value to the community.
I can't fling much C code but I can manage systems and content :-).

Or maybe the "Help" menu. Either way I can understand Henrik not wanting to
link to a website outside of his control (where he can't guarantee will be
up in 5 years time, say). It's reasonably straightforward straightforward
to update the HTML templates to add to the menu. The Devmon documentation
describes how to do this (add "Devmon documentation" to the "Help" menu),
and perhaps Xymonton could have similar directions prominently displayed.

It looks good! Thanks for providing this great resource!

What's the best way for people to contribute content/scripts/etc.? Send the
info to you? Or try and edit the wiki to add the content themselves?

Thanks.

I can't fling much C code but I can manage systems and content :-).

xymon.com if you look under the "Xymon Project" drop down. Pretty sure
it shows up near the top when you google for xymon. Ideally, I'd like to
move as much content into Xymonton as possible. It is a wiki at it's core
(and needs a little TLC I haven't had time for lately).

Maybe it's not well advertised that it exists? I know it took me a
while before I found it.

Hey folks,

I was just reviewing usage and latest updates to monitors on
xymonton.org. I see lots of traffic by bots and spiders but not
much from users. I'm just curious if the community finds it useful at
all. I'm pretty sure deadcat is better than dead (see what I did there?)
since Dell bought Quest. I wasn't able to grab the tests to share on
xymonton (if that was even relevant).

thanks

Matt,

It's essentially a wiki(ok, not essentially...it is a wiki). It does
require that you "create a login" to add/edit pages. I have tried to set
up templates for most areas and am planning to do some better
organization. Hopefully, some of the extensions I added will help with
that.

It looks good! Thanks for providing this great resource!

What's the best way for people to contribute content/scripts/etc.? Send
the info to you? Or try and edit the wiki to add the content themselves?

Thanks.

Thanks. I've rethemed it and am looking into trying to make it just a
