Newbie - Source data?

All,

I installed Hobbit a few weeks ago and it running fine. Someone in upper
management happened to see Hobbit in action and now wants more. He uses
nothing but Excel and therefore wants the raw Hobbit data so he can play
with spreadsheets all day long. My question is where can I find the raw
data that Hobbit uses to create it's graphs? Namely the "trends" graph
for "cpu Utilization". I've looked at the data/hist/hostname/ files, but
it doesn't look like they're used for graph generation.

TIA

All,
Hi, Hobbit has some report tools included.
But I can't blame someone who wishes to play with excel, christmas is coming and its a good toy :) :)

The graphs are generated with rrdtool. You can try "rrdtool dump" with any of the rrd files in the rrd subdirectory.

Maybe you can point him to the Availability reports (where he can generate a spreadsheet) to keep him occupied ...

The trend graphs are generated from the rrd files, in data/rrd. You can use 'rrdtool dump ...' to extract the data to xml (and maybe he can import that into a spreadsheet). The various rrdtool man pages ('man rrdtutorial' may be a good start) are worth consulting.
