UPS is bad and I'm 35 miles away from it...may be an hour or so since they apparently don't have time to switch it to a power strip temporarily.

If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me what kind of UPS it is?

No rush on this, it is an inconvenience but it isn't life threatening (to me
at least =).

We just purchased a company and found several UPS units that will simply
stop delivering power if the batteries are dead or if the fuse is blown.
Makes for a really bad battery backup solution in my opinion...

It was a low end APC...I'm looking into a different solution as this isn't the first one I've had issues with. It was at least acting as a power strip until today.

For low end I've been pleased with CyberPower products. Their units from
local stores and NewEgg serve their purpose well. We use them mostly for
small VoIP devices or a switch.

It's back up, at least, but won't have the new UPS until Thursday at the
earliest...it's a bit better so unless we have longer outages, it will
hopefully be much better moving forward.

I have an Ultra 1500Va pushing an ancient Poweredge 6300 in the basement
of my church that's held up in a very poor power environment for 3+ years.
Dumb as dirt, but works with apcupsd. I think I paid less than $100 at
Tigerdirect. I think you've already ordered something, but FWIW.
