alert MAIL FORMAT=SMS generates large message
list David Mostardi
I have the following alert in hobbit-alerts.cfg
MAIL FORMAT=SMS user-65be84e1496e@xymon.invalid COLOR=red REPEAT=20
RECOVERED
The alert action happens when it's supposed to, but the admin does not
receive the special tiny-size SMS. Instead he receives the large-size
email that MAIL FORMAT=TEXT would generate, which his phone service
splits up into four separate messages. Has anyone else seen this? Is
there something subtle I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
David

Try the rule like so: MAIL user-65be84e1496e@xymon.invalid <mailto:user-65be84e1496e@xymon.invalid> COLOR=red REPEAT=20 RECOVERED FORMAT=SMS Mostardi, David (MDL US) wrote:

Yes, moving "FORMAT=SMS" to the end of the line did the trick. Thanks for the suggestion. David
